Eli Lilly & Co. and Pfizer Inc. insisted their pain drug tanezumab was safe and that they knew how to deal with side effect risks for the nerve growth factor (NGF) inhibitor, but their latest set of Phase III data suggest it's not as safe as the companies hoped.
