Launches Amazon Pharmacy Service Delivering Prescription Medications In US

Amazon stands to shake up the pharmacy business in the US after launching an online prescription drug delivery service that emphasizes the ability to compare prices between branded and generic drugs and choose the lowest-cost option, as well as offering discounts of up to 80% off generics prices.

Amazon has launched an online prescription medicines delivery service, Amazon Pharmacy, that promises to offer customers the ability to compare prescription drugs across generics and brands to find the lowest-cost option, as well as offering “up to 80% off generic and 40% off brand name medications when paying without insurance,” along with free two-day delivery for Amazon Prime subscribers.
